iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation Experience at Roots Yoga
4 Week Series on Sundays in February 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28 7:00-8:00pm
Exchange: $60 for series or $16 for drop-in
Awaken to your inner peace and well-being through the meditation experience of the iRest 10-step protocol. You will deeply calm your nervous system by relaxing in savasana or a comfortable pose of your choice as you are guided through yoga nidra meditations. The iRest protocol offers an opportunity to explore your essential nature and manage stress by integrating difficult thoughts or emotions. This powerful and effective series will build over four sessions, so the entire program is recommended but not mandatory. Both new and experienced meditation practitioners are welcome. It is recommended to attend all sessions since they build upon each other. However, drop ins are also available.
The iRest protocol, developed by Richard Miller, was studied and endorsed by the Department of Defense, as it was integrated into treatment programs for soldiers returning from active duty who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Research shows iRest effectively reduces stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and PTSD, as well as enhances joy, equanimity and well-being.
